What does the Council do?

The Council sets policy for:

  • Curriculum (including development and needs assessment)

  • Extracurricular Activities
  • Instructional Practices
  • Procedures: Standards, Technology, Appraisal
  • Schedule
  • School Space
  • Staff Time
  • Student Assignment to Classes
  • Student Support Services
  • Textbooks
  • Instructional Materials

Site Base Meetings typically will be held the last Monday of each month at 4:30 PM in the WCHS library unless special meetings are called or a meeting falls on a holiday.

SBDM Committees

Join a committee and become involved with school decisions!!

  • Assessment- Chaired by Jim Brown and Larry Caudill; also Debbie Schumacker, Sheri Springate, Sue Churchill, Cheryll Crowe, Sandy Adams, Chappy Mastin, Jim Brown, J. Martin Favetto, and Sue Jacobs.

  • Budget- Chaired by Walter Cunliffe, also Mark Patrick, Sharon Turpin, Faye Daniel, Dave Noble, Chris Bott, David Iglehart, Barbara Hartsell, Rob Akers, Laura Gray, and William McGowan.

  • CSIP- Chaired by Larry Caudill and Bob Gibson, also Ken Tonks, Judy Higgins, Karen Brock, Terry Terry, Lesley Gilpin, Susan Carey, Rob Akers, and Chris Sipes.

  • Curriculum- Kyle Fannin, Dot Hundley, Chris Bentley, Lee Ann Christensen, Steve Bush, Terri Hamilton, Rob Akers, Vicki Childers, Kris Bentley, Mary Ann Gill, Ellen Webb, and Sharon Turpin.

  • Discipline/Climate-Samantha Kingsley, Clay Kingsley, Matt Merrill, Connie Boyce, Julia Sellers, Bea Stringer, Linda Scott, Mary Ann Gill, and Sue Reno.
