Big South Fork trip: a 2-Day camping trip, sometime in February!

 

Who: S.E.E.K Club members and/or Parent, and Club sponsors

What: Hiking and Primitive Camping, Out in the Wild!

* Carry on your back a tent, sleeping bag, & all food

* Hike = 4 and a half miles each of two days

* Camp next to Big South Fork of the Cumberland River

Where: Big South Fork National Recreational Area & Daniel Boone National Forest

* Meet at WCHS bus circle

* Hike Yahoo Creek Trail, Negro Creek Trail, and part of the Sheltowee Trace.

Itenerary: 6:45 a.m. Saturday - load bus

* Drive - 3 hours to Yahoo Falls Parking area (last chance for flush toilets)

* Hike to Yahoo falls, Yahoo Arch, & Big South Fork of Cumberland River

*Make camp off the trail, near river

* Hike along the river back to the Yahoo Falls parking area

* Drive back to Versailles

* Stop for supper along the way, perhaps at The Depot in Stanford

* Return to WCHS - 8:00 p.m. Sunday

Cost: $10 - for Sunday's Supper
