This course is a mandatory graduation requirement for Kentucky high school students.  The course is geared toward the average level student and is much different from most other high school math courses in that it requires more memorization of concepts, definitions, and theorems.  Homework will be assigned most every night.

1. Symbols and Constructions

2. Beginning Geometry Using Points, Lines, Planes, and Angles

3. Parallel and Perpendicular Lines and Angles Formed by Them

4.  Congruent Triangles

5.  Quadrilaterals

6.  Proportion and Similarity

7.  Study of Right Triangles

8.  Circles

9.  Area and Volume 

10.  Coordinate Geometry and Different Types of Transformations  

 

Evaluation Criteria

 

Homework/Open Responses  50%

Tests/Quizzes                               50%

These two categories account for 90% of the final term grade. 

The Final Exam                            10%
