Georgetown
College has a scholarship program for students who visit their campus.
Sophomores can earn a $200 tuition scholarship, Juniors can earn a $300
scholarship, and Seniors can earn a $500 scholarship to Georgetown College.
This program allows all students interested in attending Georgetown to
enter with a $1000 scholarship. Contact

Special Notice
Sophomores…WCHS is allowed to send one sophomore to the HOBY
Program. The purpose of this program
is for students to “recognize their leadership talents and apply them in
becoming effective, ethical leaders in their home, schools, workplace, and
community.” This is a hands-on
program with interaction between students and leaders in government, education,
media and other areas. The cost of
this program is $150.00. Students
wanting to apply to this program must fill out the registration worksheet
(available in the guidance office) and write a short essay on why they would
like to attend. Completed worksheets
and essays must be returned to the guidance office by the end of the school day
on Monday, November 26.
Sophomores…The Carol Martin Gatton Academy of Mathematics and
Science In Kentucky is taking applications for next years class.
This is a two-year residential program for sixty students with strong
skills in math and science. Students
live in special residence halls at Western Kentucky University.
Upon completion of this program students will have earned at least sixty
hours of college credits. Housing,
tuition, and meals are provided to the students at no cost.
This is a selective programs with admission based on standardized tests,
grades, essay questions, personal interview, and recommendations.
An Information Session will be held on November 5, 6 – 8 p.m. at Toyota
Motor Manufacturing , Kentucky , Visitor Center and in Danville on December 10,
6:00 p.m. at Inter-County Energy. More

Eastern
Kentucky University is hosting a week long, June 2 – 6, Mathematics and Science Academy.
This program is for current Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors.
Students should have a grade of “B” or better in their math and
science classes, a GPA of 3.2, and an ACT composite score of 25.
Students may apply without the ACT score.
