The primary purpose of public education is to provide for the maximum development of each student regardless of ability, past experiences, social or economic status. Educators are obligated to develop the potential of each individual in such a way that s/he will become a contributing (self-sufficient, law-abiding, voting) member of society. The faculty of Woodford County High School is committed to maximizing the potential of all students. We believe all students can be successful.

The goals of WCHS are:

  • To develop skills in listening, speaking, reading, writing and computing.
  • To be able to think rationally, analyze and make wise decisions.
  • To recognize and utilize unique and creative talents for self and others.
  • To develop a love of learning that will continue throughout life.
  • To develop good health habits and an understanding of the human body.
  • To develop a love of our country and knowledge of the precepts upon which it was founded.
  • To develop guides for living, acceptable citizenship and the desire to achieve excellence in the world of work.
  • To develop a respect for mankind and for the environment.
  • To develop a respect for public and private property.
