Grade: 9, 10 Algebra I will use the same algebraic ideas learned in Preparatory Algebra in a more in-depth look. The student will work with real life applications, as well as, standardized test preparation. The material will cover such concepts as solving equations, factoring, proportion word problems and inequalities. Algebra I Advanced:Grade: 9 The topics will be the same as Preparatory Algebra and Algebra I but will be more rigorous in pace and depth. Algebra II:Grade: 10, 11, 12 This course is designed for college bound students. In addition to expanding the mathematical concepts of Algebra I, emphasis will be placed on preparation for study of higher mathematics – abstract thinking skills, the function concept, and the algebraic solution of problems in various content areas. Topics include matrices, quadratic equations and inequalities, graphs of functions and relations, sequences and series, probability and statistics, linear equations, systems of equations, polynomial and rational functions, radicals, radical equations and introduction to conic sections, exponential, and logarithmic functions. Algebra II Advanced:Grade: 10, 11, 12 Topics will be the same as Algebra II but more rigorous in pace and depth. This course leads to Calculus AP. Calculus:Grade: 11, 12 Trigonometry and Analytics; math teacher recommendation Calculus AP:Grade: 11, 12 This course includes concepts of differential and integral calculus. It includes an introduction to the concepts of a limit, differentiation, related rates, extrema, monotonic, and concavity of a function, subsequently leading to integration concepts which include: areas under and between curves, volumes of solids or revolution, integration by parts, and integration involving natural logarithms. This course covers all material prescribed by the College Board Advanced Geometry:Grade: 10, 11, 12 Designed to introduce the fundamentals of geometry, this course will help students develop basic geometric skills and learn to apply geometric principles. Geometric vocabulary, theorems, and formulas are presents. Topics will include points, lines, planes, area, volume, symmetry, transformations, angle relationships, slope, right triangle trigonometry and similarity of polygons. Geometry Advanced:Grade: 9, 10 Topics will be the same as Geometry but more rigorous in pace and depth and will include proofs. This course leads toward Calculus AP. Math Applications SR:Grade: 12 This course is designed for students who have successfully completed Algebra II and who are not planning to attend a traditional four year college. Students will be exposed to geometric concepts, trigonometric functions, and exponential functions through real world applications. Pre-Calculus:Grade: 11, 12 This course is intended for students who plan to take a calculus course in high school or college. Topics include but are not limited to: functions and their inverse; graphs and applications of polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic, trigonometric and absolute value functions; analytic geometry and complex numbers. This course leads to Calculus AP. Preparatory Algebra:Grade: 9, 10 The preparatory algebra course is a transition course that extends concepts of middle level mathematics and enters the domain of high school algebra. New concepts that are introduced include equations, scientific notation, proportional reasoning, introduction to functions, inequalities, multi-step linear equations, polynomial, factoring, and probability. Students continue to connect mathematical concepts, skills, and relationships of number and computation, probability and statistics, with algebraic thinking. They model and solve problems using algebraic, numerical and graphical representations. Probability and Statistics SR:Grade: 12 This course is designed for students who have successfully completed Algebra II and who are not planning to attend a transitional four year college. Topics will include, but are not limited to probability and statistics. Statistics AP:Grade: 11, 12 The purpose of the Advanced Placement course in statistics is to introduce students to the major concepts and tools for collecting, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from data. Students are exposed to four broad conceptual themes: exploring data, planning a study, anticipating patterns, and statistical inference. AP Statistics is an excellent course for any student who has completed Algebra II regardless of the student’s intended college major. Trigonometry and Analytics:Grade: 11, 12 This course is designed for those students excelling in the general track of Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II. Topics include but are not limited to: functions and their inverse; graphs and applications of polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic, trigonometric and absolute value functions; analytic geometry and complex numbers. This course is for the college-bound student. |
