Prerequisite: Peer Tutor teacher approval and/or teacher recommendation

This course is designed to provide opportunities for both social and academic interactions between typically functioning students and students with moderate to severe disabilities (MSD). Course goals include and increased knowledge/ awareness of various disabilities and increased positive interactions between peer tutors and students with MSD. Participation, including appropriate interactions with students, is a major component of the course grade. Observations, written assignments and examinations are also components for the course grade. Peer tutoring is a great course for those interested in the field of education, the field of speech/ physical/ occupational therapy or the field of social work.
