Education:
graduated from John Overton High School in Nashville Tennessee. I
completed my undergraduate degree at Western Kentucky University in
Theatre and Speech. I have two Masters degrees from The University of
Kentucky, one in Theatre and the other in Secondary Education. Experience: I have taught at WCHS for five years where I also completed my student teaching assignment. I previously taught at the School for Performing and Creative Arts in Lexington and as a lecturer at universities in Kentucky and Texas. Teaches: I teach Theatre and English at WCHS. I am also director of the Theatre program which means I direct and/or produce the dramatic presentations. I have taught a variety of classes related to theatre and the arts as well as classes in literature and writing. Extracurricular duties/Hobbies: As I stated earlier, I direct the theatre program at the High School which means I oversee the variety of offerings in a dramatic environment. Students have the opportunity to act, direct, design and create using theatre and drama as the medium. My hobbies and talents are varied. I enjoy time with my family, reading, running and recreation. Schedule:. 1st Block: Theatre I/II/IV 2nd Block: PLAN 3rd Block: English II 4th Block: Arts and Humanities Other: I like teaching theatre because I see the students using creativity they thought was nonexistent. I see the students using the arts as a springboard to a life full of creativity and imagination. The connection to the arts should begin at school and be fostered for a lifetime. "All the worlds a stage, and all the men and women merely players." William Shakespeare
