Things to Read

·         Chapter #49 Ecosystem structure & biogeochemical cycles is the primary focus. A quick read of Chapter 2 should be completed by Friday as we’ll do some oral “let’s see whatcha know” questions in class.

·         *Next week:  Chapters #3 & 42

Homework Assignments:

·         Monday – Last call to finish Interpreting a controlled experiment if not already.

·         Tuesday – Text reading

·          Wednesday – Do #49 EOCQ (p. 895) RQ # 3,4,5,6 & 8  CT # 2 & 4 + (go on-line to find out how USDA defines “organic”).  Is it more or less than you expected?

·         Thursday – Text reading

·         Friday/Weekend – Review sketch notes & text reading for Monday’s quiz.

Lab Work:

AP lab # 12 on Primary productivity will be done in on Tuesday & Wednesday.  Have PLQ on this lab from Lab Bench ready to turn in by Tuesday (1-30-07). Lab manuals will be due on Friday.

 Project/Special Activity

I’m still pondering whether I like the biorhythms idea for a portfolio piece or another idea on Yeast & UV radiation.  Cost may cause me to lean toward the biorhythms.

Quiz: Today, 1-29 @ Chapter 48.  Next Monday on #2 & 49.

Extra Credit:

·          After school field trip # 1 to the KDFWR freshwater mussel research lab outside of Frankfort on Friday.  I’ll provide you with a map.  Drive safely and be there by 3:45.  We should be done by 4:45 at the latest.   

Reminders

·         We’ll walk over to Fouser Environmental (behind the S&S Tire dealer across the street) on Thursday for a short tour of the work that goes on in an environmental lab. Afterwards, we’ll wander over to DQ…..that would be kinesis……..for a snack.
